Supported by Ipswich City Council (RADF), Queensland Arts, BEMAC and Regional Arts Services Network (RASN)
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between Queensland Government and Ipswich City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
In 2020, I was awarded a Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) from Arts Queensland and Ipswich City Council to film the proof of concept for Falling in Slow Motion.
In the same year, I was also awarded a BEMAC and Regional Arts Services Network grant for a mini documentary about the making of the proof of concept. This documentary was included in a GoFundMe campaign to help raise further funds to get our project off the ground.
We were scheduled to start filming in January 2021 in Ipswich, Queensland; however, COVID-19 had other plans. Our shooting block was delayed, pushed back, and broken into two parts due to snap lockdowns, border closures, and the ever-changing rules surrounding the COVID-19 pre-vaccine. We had minimal gear and a skeleton crew that worked tirelessly, often taking on more than one role to help get this project to the finish line. With the help of family and friends and the support of Ipswich City Council, local businesses, private investors, and our amazing GoFundMe contributors, we were able to create something truly special, with the final product being screened at a red-carpet event at Limelight Cinemas, Ipswich, in November 2021.
